LCSW Supervision

Available for LMSWs licensed in Texas

So you have your LMSW… what now?

Some social workers jump into their work towards the LCSW as soon as they get their LMSW, and some spend years doing incredible work as LMSWs before embarking on their journey towards the LCSW! The decision to start your clinical hours is a big one, and I want to help you decide what path works best for you.

Texas Behavioral Health Executive Council

Texas Behavioral Health Executive Council

If you have your LMSW in Texas, you’re probably already familiar with the BHEC! The Council determines the requirements for LCSW supervision for social workers to eventually qualify to apply for their clinical licensure. A total of 3000 hours of social work is required over a minimum of 24 full months, including a minimum of 4 hours of clinical work per week involving the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of mental health disorders. LMSWs under LCSW supervision must also engage in at least 4 hours of supervision per month, in either individual or group settings.

Check out the BHEC website below for further insight into starting the process, check out my FAQs, or contact me with any questions!

A progressive approach

The accessibility of quality supervision services is essential for the future of the field of social work. It is my passion to provide intersectional, decolonial, and justice-oriented supervision to social workers virtually throughout Texas in order to maximize the care we can bring to those who need it most.

My values both in social work practice and in supervision of LMSWs are feminist, justice-oriented, intersectional, decolonial, and progressive. Clinicians of all value systems are welcome as supervisees; establishing a good fit is essential and transparency is important!

The current supervision group meets virtually on the 1st and 3rd Monday evenings from 5:30-7:30 PM CST via the Google Meet platform. Individual supervision sessions can be scheduled on an as needed basis at times that work best for both supervisor and supervisee.
